Interviews and Tidbits

Wanna know more about a famous player? Wanna just see some neat TAO stuff that has been unearthed? Find out here!

First Interview is up! Thanks to Xiahou Dun:

(Interview with Xiahou Dun through PMs)

Duraza: When did you start playing, and what was the best thing about TAO back then?

Xiahou: I started playing as soon as TAO came online at the close of October 2003. The best thing wasn't really how the game was but the fact that we saw Seed around making updates playing, talking and generally looking like he cared.

Duraza: How has TAO changed since then?

Xiahou: Well Seed no longer "Cares" it seems but then people whine about that far too much. At the end of the day it is just a game he spent a lot of his time making ages ago and if he doesn't want to do it anymore that's up to him. Although it'd be nice if he'd just say one way or the other. As for the game there's been a lot of changes. Golds now have only one Scout as well as a bunch of new units like the Wisp, GA, Berserker etc, also Gold units have new moves like the Mudquake and Assassin Bomb. There's a Chat Filte rin lobby which is nice as any Internet Community is always inhabited by some angry little boys from tiem to time. And it's optional too. I don't like the way you can't swear in some other games. It feels a little patronising soemtimes. Finally we have Ingame Mods now to deal with a bunch of stuff.

Duraza: What do you think needs to be changed about TAO (if anything).

Xiahou: I think the only thing we really need done is to get the password change system running agian. The games pretty balanced with the new units despite the many other whining oldies who want the game the exact same as it was when they started out.

Duraza: Who do you think can influence TAO positively?

Xiahou: Just about anyone well known to the community although those with higher positions like Moderators both ingame and on the forums have more of a chance of being listened to.

Duraza: What do you expect in TAO's future?

Xiahou: I don't really expect it to last much longer then maybe another year or two but then again I thought that back in 2003 so let's wait and see. : D

Thankyou Xiahou Dun!

Interview with Jake Shep94 by Packers:

Packers: When did you start playing?

Jake Shep94: Well, i first started playing in 04, but then my internet messed up and i only got it back in November 06'

Packers: What was good when you started?

Jake Shep94: Well, i don't really remember stuff from 04', so I'll just say some stuff from 06...The good things were when i beat the 'good' 1400+'s with a dropless grey + Default set lol. Also, the fact that i was the leader of a clan. :P

Packers: How have things changed?

Jake Shep94: Well, I'm not a leader now aren't i? And I've got two golds so i don't need to play grey . And the fact that i haven't played a game in a few weeks classes as 'changes' right?

Packers: What do you wish was better?

Jake Shep94: Well, i wish i was better at the game, i used to have good spells and some bad ones.

That is all. :O

Interview with Gypsy (HeXx) by Packers:

Packers: When did you start playing?

Gypsy: November 2003.

Packers: what was good when you started?

Gypsy: You could get in really good defensive games, especially before the mudquake. I enjoyed the double frost dominance period.

Packers: How have things changed?

Gypsy: The game paradigm is offensive now. This is a mixed blessing.

Packers: What do you wish was better?

Gypsy: I wish there was a new unit. I'd prefer it to be defensive oriented but at this point anything new would be refreshing.

Thankyou jake and Gypsy and Packers!
